The phone does have IP67 water resist certification and a finger print scanner, but the much awaited QHD display is absent. The phone bears the same 1080p resolution on a marginally bigger 5.1 inch display. The phone also features an IR Blaster, heart sensor and USB 3.0. The back panel sports a leather finish perforated design and the metallic finish edges are also made of an alloy of glass fiber and polycarbonate. Samsung is calling the new perforated back cover glamorous, but looking at the initial picstures we would like to disagree.
The processor is 2.5 GHz Quad Core with RAM capacity of 2 GB (that’s right not 3 GB). The internal storage is 16 GB/ 32 GB and microSD support is present up to 128 GB. With the enhanced S Health 3.0, the new Galaxy S5 offers more tools to help people stay fit and well. It provides a comprehensive personal fitness tracker to help users monitor and manage their behavior, along with additional tools including a pedometer, diet and exercise records, and a new, built-in heart rate monitor.
The 16 MP camera at the back can shoot 4k videos at 30fps and the autofocus time is also pretty impressive at 0.3 seconds. The front camera has a 2 MP sensor. Samsung also boasts of an effective HDR mode and other features like Selective focus all of which work at lightning fast speed. The battery capacity is 2800 mAh battery, and Samsung also has provided with a battery saver mode. The phone will be launched in 150 countries on 11th April 2014.
